We offer help to young people with complex, severe or enduring emotional and mental health problems. We support young people who are aged between 5-18 years of age and who are registered with a Sandwell GP.
We accept referrals from these types of professionals:
- Social Workers
- Health Visitors
- School Professionals
- Paediatricians / Hospital Doctors
- Paediatric Occupational Therapists
- Specialist Nurses
- School Nurses
The most common way of getting support in CAMHS is by visiting your GP and discussing a CAMHS referral with them. If you have any questions about this, or you are a referrer considering referring a young person, you are welcome to talk to our Single Point of Access (SPA) team for emotional and mental health on (0121) 612 6620. Unfortunately, we don’t accept self-referrals from young people or families, but we are working on this!
If you require full referral and service specification information, this can be downloaded here.

Please note: For Social Workers wishing to refer a Child or Young Person in Care – please complete both CAMHS SPA Referral form and Sandwell and Wolverhampton CAMHS Children and Young People in Care Additional Information Form. This will ensure your referral can be processed in a timely manner.
